Founded by Drew, a former cop, financial planner and now full-time miner, BIM isn’t a corporate campaign or polished wellness program. It’s the real deal—a space for FIFO workers and Mining families to hear honest yarns, have a laugh, and feel a bit less alone.

What started as a Facebook group quickly turned into something more. Drew wanted to go beyond the memes and gripes and actually start conversations that matter—money, mental health, relationships, leadership, reintegration, site culture, and all the wild stuff in between. So, the podcast was born. With Drew behind the mic and Dave riding shotgun, Blokes in Mining is for anyone who’s done the miles, missed the moments, and still shows up.This isn’t just for Miners & FIFO blokes—it’s for the partners, families, future miners, and legends who've lived the life or want to understand it better. We’re here to build a community, not a brand. And while we’ll cover the serious stuff, you can bet we’ll take the piss too. Founder & Host Drew’s the voice of the modern miner—ex-cop, financial planner, and now a full-time miner who’s seen the highs, lows, and everything in between. He’s passionate about breaking the silence on mental health, helping others get smarter with money, and keeping the industry real. With a love for footy, a cold beer, and a good yarn, Drew brings a no-filter mix of honesty and humour to every episode. He's the mate who’ll have your back, challenge your thinking, and make sure you leave each convo better than you came in.
Co-Host Dave’s the steady hand with a sharp edge. He’s done the hard yards across two decades in mining, working his way through key leadership roles on-site—so when he speaks, blokes listen. A straight shooter with a good heart and a colourful vocabulary, Dave brings the family perspective to the pod as a husband and dad trying to balance home life with the demands of FIFO. Whether he’s sharing a hard truth or teeing off on something ridiculous, Dave keeps things grounded, honest, and always worth a listen.
